After Rottnest Island - The Round House

Okie! After departing Rottnest Island via the Ferry from the Island's jetty we headed off to a house that has the word Round in front of it. Yeap - it is called The Round House . . . Hmmm it is a wee bit strange to call it The Round House ... Come! Let's go find out about it. . .

Below is a shot taken from the Vantage point of The Round house . . .

This shot makes me feel like I am in the Colonial ages of the British Empire . . . What say you guys ? ^^

Ok! Another shot of the outside view from the Vantage point of The Round House and off we go to The Round House shots itself . . . ^^

Come! The Entrance to The Round House . . . hmm it is not Round in shape tho . . . at least externally from here . . . and on the left is my Brother climbing his way up ahead of me into The Round House... Let's go!!! ^^

Oh Wow . . . Where is there a Well in the middle of this Round House ? Wonder is there still water inside this Well ? hmm . . .

And oh my . . . The Round House is indeed Old . . . Built since 1831 and is at One Hundred and Sixty-Eight Years Old . . . more than One and Half Century old . . . .

So. . . . What is this building built for ? Check out the shot below . . .

Ah Ha from the posted information here . . . It used to be a place to Lock up Convicts who breached the Curfew hours . . . In short - A Prison - And now the Bell is used as a Fire Warning for the Residents of Fremantle.

Ok! So what else was it used for back then other than locking up Convicts who breached the Curfew hours ? The shot below will reveal the Answer . . .

Oh my my my . . . This is indeed Insulting punishment for Drunkenness I must say . . . As for how effective it is against future Drunkenness of the individual . . . I don't know tho . . .

Okie! Let's go take a look at the rest of this Inner circle of The Round House as below :

Three shots of the same spot just to show that there are others beside me visiting The Round House . . . Lolx . . . ^^ and the Tiny vertical entrances you see at the side are the Holding Cells for Convicts who broke the Curfew Hours.

Cannot imagine being Cooped inside such a Small room . . . oh my . . .

OK! Enough of the gloomy holding cells and humiliating contraption for Drunkenness . . . Time for some fresh air outside it . . .

Now this is so much better !!! ^^ Fresh air and wide open view of the surrounding environment . . . Even my mummy dearest is going to take a break here !!! ^^

And off I go shooting the surrounding environment from this Vantage point

A wide view shot of another street facing The Round House and so I decided to do a close up shot . . .

Even from this vantage point I can still zoom down my shots enough to see people and cars on the Streets . . . Cool . . . ^^

And off I go exploring the rest of this Round House confines and I came across this . . .

It's a Red Brick House with a Chimney too!!! ^^ Let's go find out what is it for . . .

First the name of this Red Bricked House is called - Bathers Beach - hmm interesting . . .

Oh okay it is a Art house - but don't seem open for visitors tho . . .

Below is a shot I came across that Further explains The Round House, how much it cost to build back then, designed by who, why it was built as such, the material used etc . .

Okie! That's a further bit of information about The Round House . . . Off I go exploring the compounds of The Round House Further . . .

Surprise Surprise!!! Another breath taking Wide Open Ocean view ^^^

Wanna know how Breath taking it is . . . Until my next blog . . . Cheers . . .
